Any old-timers remember a fold-flat driver backrest offered as an
accessory for BMWs a number of years ago?

It was a dual-use design in conjunction with a solo seat (no pillion)
and folded backwards onto a luggage rack for occasional use as a
piliion pad.

It was designed so, if riding solo, a rider could reach back while in
motion and flip it forward into position for use as a backrest.

Never been much of a BMW fan, but I remember being impressed with the
cleverness of that design.  Kinda sorta thinking of something like it
for my Goldwing, but have had no success with an internet search for
such.
