Commute is short, ~12 miles of mixed city-highway. Max speed limit of 55, max average traffic speed about the same, most of the limits are 40-45. I wouldn't do an interstate commute on a 250, but none of the ones I've ridden feel slow enough to be a pain in my situation.
I've toyed with a 250-400cc dual sport so I have readily available hard case racks, give me a place to lock my gear while I'm on campus or at work, but I dunno... DRZ 400 models hold value like nobody's business around here, don't need a dr/klr 650, too big...
