That explains it. I never needed to pull that metal ring out. So my fix
skipped those steps.

You will only see the oring if you pull the metal ring out (has a slot in
it for fluid level).

Tommy,
I don't recall an O-Ring on my reservoir. Just glass and epoxy. I used 5
Minute Epoxy as seen in the attached. I got it from an auto parts store.
It's the kind that mixes. I still have it and have reused it for other things.
I have seen multiple postings indicate that RTV sealant will also work. If
I were to do it again, I would probably just buy that product as it has
more other compatible uses. I have heard folks use black, I suggest using
the clear though, as a little overage of clear sealant on the glass will not
even draw notice, whereas black on the glass would. In my opinion anyway...
If you are going to start selling the product in kits, you might consider
adding the sealant in the kit. It can be done by simply loading a small
syringe, say 1-3 ml oral type syringe. But you would have to seal or cap it,
to make sure the sealant does not cure in the syringe, too much, or too long
having access to air will cause it to cure. I've also found a video I
thought was pretty close to what I did.
Here's that link. ->  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_yo3FnH6DM
BTW. I think a price of $50 will probably deter the discerning DIY kinda
guy and effectively limit your sales, it's my opinion that $25 is about tops
for what that's worth, and you would probably sell 3-5 times as many at
that price. But what do I know, I'm not the sales type. In any case.
Good Luck.
Mike

Mike, did you use an o-ring or just the glass and epoxy?
