Regardless of the make and model: 1. verify that the kill switch is on "run" and the side stand is up. 2. stick an extra spark plug in the wires one by one. Rest the spark plug on the engine head and verify that you've got spark. 3. spray some starting ether in the air box and see if it starts at least momentarily
If all three above are "yes," chances are you've got carb issues. And by the way, how old is the gasoline you are trying to start it with?
