Well you actually need to adjust the pilot screws. The idle screw is just to adjust the idle once you have everything else set. You want to do this with the engine fully warm up. I would set all screws to a minimum (1 or 2 turns, whatever it is the minimum that allows the bike to actually run). You then set the idle to 1k rpm. Turn the pilot screws, by half a turn out at the time, until you notice an increase in the engine speed of 500 rpm or more. Re-adjust the idle (with the idle screw) to 1k rpm and repeat the process. At some point (hopefully when you are in the 3 turns out ball park) you should no see any more changes in the rpms. Once you are there simply make you you set your final idle to 1k rpm.
