Here's what I could see once I cut the top off the pulse gen. The permanent magnet is behind the coil with the steel surrounding the back and pushed through the center to create the pickup point. The whole thing looks like it is thermoset plastic so I would break the coil if I tried to remove the rest of the plastic. So no point in cutting the other one down. I'm just happy the bike is running so well now that is has new pulse gens.
