Still another idea:

Read the thread "Oil in the airbox of my cb650sc" posted here a couple days 
ago.  Empty the crankcase ventilation collection tube as described if you 
haven't done so recently (or ever).  

Backed up excess liquid from that tube into the airbox can cause a 
difficult-to-diagnose array of engine issues like you're describing (rough 
running, hard starting, rich mixture, etc.)

Always better to attempt simple, easiest "fixes" before moving on to 
deeper, more complicated or expensive solutions.
