Okay Cisco, If you can find another battery to test it out, that's okay. You can remove the cover on the side and set the battery in there, just to ride around til it fails.
If heat is causing the failure we have to look over a few other issues. Has your oil and filter been changed this year? Sometimes badly clogged oil passages prevent cooling and can cause a heat seizure. This would be my next investigation, but for now, follow the testing procedure from the service manual on as much as you can. The manual has all the proper readings for all the electrical components and you can find it online, and in our google group page. this becomes a bit of a research hobby. Be aware if it's not heat or electrical, it can be something else too. So be patient.
