Dear fellow nikonears,
I had recently purchased a used MD12 motor drive for use with my Nikon FA. I
tested the MD12 before buying it on a FM2 and it worked flawlessly. However
I encountered a problem when I connected it to my FA. When working in
continuos firing mode after several shots the MD12 stops working. After
disconnecting the drive from the camera I noticed that the camera will not
fire the shutter. I have to switch the FA to one of the manual modes (M250
or B), fire the shutter and then return to the electronic shutter speeds and
everything works fine again.
I also see that on occasion the motor will advance the film two frames
instantly when in continuos mode. I think the shutter is not fired between
the two frames. I can here this discrepancy when the shutter is pressed
continuously in C mode.
I have tried replacing the FA batteries without success. Does anyone have
suggestions to fix this problem?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ronen Ashkenazi
