You live in a humid climate, right? If you were to take a lupe and look
closely at that "fog," you'd probably see that it looks like little
"threads" woven onto the glass. That's fungus, and it etches glass
permanently once it gets to the level where you can see it. Search through
back issues of the Digest for "fungus" for ways to deal with the problem. If
you've got this problem, EVERY lens you buy is likely to be destroyed unless
you take action to prevent it.
