You do not say exactly what your goals are in trading up.

If your goal is to enhance the range of quality photos you can take,
then I recommend that you stick with the 8008s and get a SB 24 or SB 25
flash. Also get a MR-3 motor terminal release so you can use standard
cable releases with your 8008s. Also get 5T and 6T close-up diopters.

With this gear you have the benefits of high quality Nikon flash, and
can take sharp close-up shots with the 75-300. You can also avoid the
need to buy expensive and delicate electronic shutter releases.

You already have one of the classic Nikon bodies and 2 fine lenses that
cover the 28-300 range very nicely. Unless you plan to shoot lots of
fast action shots, I do not believe that you will benefit as much by
trading up to the N90s body.

Essentially with the N90s you will be getting an upgraded 8008s body
chiefly with faster AF. You give up the ability to do multiple exposures
(without also investing in the MF 26 data back) which is a feature built
into the 8008s body.

My vote is to invest in accessories rather than a new body at this
point.
