I own a Nikkor AF 180/2.8 EDIF, and have shoot with the Nikkor AF
80-200/2.8. Both are very nice lenses. The 80-200 is very high quality,
high enough that under normal shooting conditions I cannot tell the
difference. One of the reasons I opted for the 180 over the 80-200 was the
size. The 180 is much smaller and much easier to hand hold. It is true
that my camera bag is a little heavier then most because I have more lenses
only shooting with primes, but the camera in my hand is always more
manageable.
