MD-2 & MB-1 questions

Hi,

        I just recently purchased an MD-2 motordrive combined with an MB-1
battery holder. The question I have  is how do you get the battery
compartment out to load the batteries? I know how to open the battery
compartment, but how do I get the battery holder that holds the five AA
batteries out to put the batteries in? Also, doe the drive and the
camera have to be set at same shutter speed to work?
