1: Your choice depends on how you intend to use them. The two primes
are
better optically, but if you are doing event photography, I highly
recommend the 24-120 zoom lens. It is very good optically as well, and
a
longer range for covering parties, meetings, gatherings, and weddings.

I currently have the 24-50 f/3.3-4.5 and it's got some significant
distortion at the wide end, and so I'm upgrading to the 24-120 (for
greater
versatility, AND improved optics) and have purchased the 20 f/2.8 for
wide-angle quality. Instead of the 50mm f/1.8 you may wish to consider
the
60mm f/2.8 micro, which is razor sharp, has super depth-of-field, is
very
close to angle of view of the 50mm lens, and can produce images at a
reproduction ratio of 1:1.

2: I like the 20mm f/2.8D because it's not covered in the standard
zooms,
except the very expensive 20-35 f/2.8. Nikon is known for it's
wide-angle
lenses, you would be happy with the optical quality of all of the
wide-angle lenses you mentioned.

Here is what I recommend to most people when they are considering a
wide angle lens:

If you think you will only want one lens, get a 28mm. It's wide enough
for much work without creating a lot of distortion, and most flash
units will cover 28mm.

It you think you are going to be serious about photography, you will
want more than one wide angle lens, then get a 20 or 24mm, plus a
35mm.
