Greetings: In all the excitement over the official launch of the F100, I missed the question raised by its name. The F100 name raises the question whether NIKON USA is gaining maturity or losing control. The F4s bodies imported by NIKON USA had a USA stamp next to the serial number. The F5 does not. The F90x bodies imported by NIKON USA were labelled N90s. Now, even on the Nikon USA home page (http://www.nikonusa.com/products/photography/F100/f100.html), the successor to the N90s/F90x is being called the F100, and not the N100. So, did NIKON USA finally realize it was silly to use a separate naming system for US import cameras, or did our friends in Tokyo refuse to accept the (small) added cost of the dual naming system? If it is the latter, will there be other changes, such as less Nikon USA mark-up? Any one have any inside gossip on this issue? Mike
