Hello everybody!
I was planning to buy an 80-200 or 70-300 a new trip in the near future
made me change my plans, so I'm now looking for a decent (it's sadly what I
afford right now...) wide angle lens. I already own the cheap Nikkor 35-80
f/4-5.6D that came with my F60, and I would like to cover a little more
range. Since for travelling I prefer not to bother too much changing
lenses, I thought a 28-something would be nice (the Nikkor 24-120 is out of
reach, unfortunately). Well, I've seen this three choices in a B&H
catalog:
1- Sigma 28-105 f/2.8 D - Aspherical. It covers a nice distance, is
reasonably fast (more than my 35-80) and it's cheap, but I've heard lots of
bad things about Sigma...
2- Tokina 19-35 f/3.5-4.5 . I would get really wide, which I'd love and
think would be nice where I'm going (Morocco), but it's non-D type. It's
cheaper than the Sigma.
3- Tamron 28-105 f/4.0-5.6 IF - It covers some more ground than the Sigma,
but it's slower, and I've also heard bod things about Tamron quality.
still, it's cheaper than the Sigma.
4- Vivitar Series 1 19-35 f/3.5-4.5 Ultra Wide Macro Focus, the cheapest of
all the gang, but I've heard tha Series 1 was not that bad.

Well, I know I cannot expect great quality, so the real question is : which
of this lenses should be more decent, and provide the sharpest pictures?

Thanks in advance (and if anybody has been in Morocco and Portugal, any
advice is most welcome. For example: what film would you use?)50
