Benjamine,
A wedding is hopefully a once in a lifetime event. Don't set yourself up
for a lifetime of blame and condemnation for being the one who failed to
provide those cherished memories. DO take pictures and hopefully you can
get a few really special shots that are all the more special because they
were taken by the brother of the bride, but DON"T be the official
photographer. This is a responsibility reserved only for those skilled
professionals who know how to make it happen. Wedding photography is one of
the hardest types of photography, if not THE hardest, and the fact that you
will not get a second try makes it critical and stressful. A wedding
photographer is a skilled people person, capable of such complex
choeography of people, who are for the most part improvising a dance that
the photographer is also a part of. He or she, are like a conductor of a
grand Brahms symphony who must manage 85 different parts simultaneously and
make them be as one coherent entity. Enjoy your sisters only wedding and
leave the official photography to a pro who is emotionally detached from
the situation. But if you do take pictures make sure you plan this with the
official photographer as your flash can totally distroy any shot he is
taking at the time. My friend Jim, a wedding photographer has as part of
his contract that if any other flash units go off during the weddins the
contract is null and void. So you can use the excelent, sharp 800 ASA pro
film ( Fuji NHG II 800) and no flash, (with tripod), shoot ONLY at times
specified by the photographer or wait for the outdoor shots after the
ceremony. Ask the photographer if you may assist him/her. This way you can
learn and also get more flash pics as he/she can keep you informed when it
is safe for you to shoot.

 Good Luck.
Richard
