F5 BATTERY DRAIN

> The F5 has a computer inside, as do many sophisticated slr cameras.
>When you turn on the power switch, the computer boots up and begins
>working. It constantly checks each and every switch on the body - the
>af/shutter release switch, control knob switches, and many other electronic
>subsystems - to sense user actions - changes to any setting.

I asked Nikon about leaving the camera on. They said that the drain on the
camera with only having the switch on is so low that you would lose the
same amount of power by just having the batteries sit on a shelf. I have
left my F5 on for a week without lookig at it and if I have AAs in it I am
fine, but if I use the MN-30, well that only lasts a week anyway before I
recharge it.
