On the N90/N90s, there is a lever on the bottom left side of
the camera (if you're holding it to your eyes) that you can
select AF-C(ontinuous), AF-S(ingle) and M(F) operations.  After
you autofocus, simply flip the lever from S to M mode.  Works
fine.
