I do think only you can answer the question. Does the AFS give you
something
that would make your photography better, easier or just more expensive.
I have the non AFS it works extremely well, at this time I have no
reason
to get the AFS.
I also have the 300/f4 It is an amazing work horse. I shoot motorcycle
races
with these two lenses and all my customers are extremely happy with how
sharp
the photos are. This makes me extremely happy happy customers give money
to make
me a happy photographer
