My 6006 does the same thing, so I don't think there is a problem, at least with the onboard flash. I haven't had the camera very long, so I'm no expert. How do your photos come out? I'll experiment with mine and let you know. I don't know about Nikon or Metz flash units, I use a Sunpak 522. As far as manuals go I highly recommend the Magic Lantern Guide for the N6006/N8008s/N6000. They are well worth the $20 they are charging for it. Hope this helps. George Bowen
