Hello digital Nikoneers!

First topic is not quite Nikon specific, but it is a general mistake. (IMHO)

100lpm in analog world means 100 line _pairs_ per mm. 100 bright and 100 dark
lines in bright, dark, bright, dark, etc. order.
We need 200dot/mm to render this resolution. 100 bright pixel and 100 dark
pixel in bright, dark, bright, dark, etc. order.
An 640x480 photo can only show 320 vertical (240 horizontal) lines!
The things are worse, because if you try eg. 300 vertical lines in 640x480 resolution.
Uneven line distance, interference, moare and other digital horrors.
If I well remember velvia can resolute 150lpm. (High contrast.) To resolve this
we need 300pixel/mm. 10800x7200 pixel for 24x36mm! Ok, everybody would be happy
with a honest 50lpm resolution. -> 100pixel/mm -> 3600x2400pixel 24x36mm
equivalent.

My Nikos specific questions is:
n8008, n8008s, n90, n90s, f100 focusing screens interchangeability. Which models use
different screens? Is it good one screen for all?
If not what is the reason?
 a) Can not be inserted?
 b) Can not be fixed?
 c) Cause meter error? (Like K2 v. K, or Intenscreens)
 d) Focus area indicator missing?
 e) Bad focus plane?
 f) Screen needs some modification?

I understand, that FM2/FE2/FA can use same screen. Is this screen interchangeable
with one of above mentioned screens for AF cameras? Or Af and MF screens are
totally different 92% screens?

Why I ask this? Because I like the "J" screen. And "J" is available for F..
professional line and for 8008. (According B&H.) I don't want to buy an
professional camera or an old 8008.
