HI Nikoneers, I just came back from the Boston Flower show. I had read that cameras were allowed, so I brought my stuff, and as we went in a Nikon banner caught my eye. Seems as though Nikon Factory reps left ALL the goodies for ANYONE to play with. Every Camera Body and lens was there except the new 28-70 f2.8. Buy the film, a few pointers on the F100, put on a Micro 105 with SB21, came back later, put on the Sb-28, got a 20-35 f2.8, you get the idea. BTW, not a C in sight. So I reluctantly gave back all the gear, after a couple of hours, minus the film of course, and for my trouble was given a stack of the new Nikon catalogs and pens to bring to my camera club. Such a deal. On a side note, FWIW, I like my N70 just fine after comparing it to the F100. Folks on this list have been commenting on the number of steps to say, bracket the N70, as though it is the most cumbersome camera made. Well, to me, it now feels like a P&S compared to the F100. I did love the high adjustable viewpoint, ease of bracketing, focusing speed, and almost everything else about it, but it has just as much if not more of a learning curve, or time to comfort level, as the N70. Just my opinion. I did compare the Auto focus speed between the F100 and N70, and the f2.8 AF glass all seemed incredibly fast and accurate on the F100 but would hunt more on the N70, going past focus and having to refocus. Maybe someone on this list knows why, but the Dealer at the show couldn't or wouldn't say why, or even confirm my observation. I get the impression the N70 is designed for the consumer grade lenses. Thanx for the bandwidth! John ;~)
