HaYaDoin?

Thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to respond to my cry for help on my
Nikon FG "vertical orange bands on pictures" problem. I have to say, WOW you
are all great troubleshooters. A majority of the messages I received were
convinced it's a light leak, more than likely in the camera back. A few
members suggested I check the negatives to see if the bands extended past the
exposed portion of the film.

Well, I checked the negatives and there they were! The bands extending all
the way across the film including the area surrounding the film advance holes.
I then checked the foam "light seal" on outer edge of the body where the
"Camera Back" door makes contact. It is badly worn, almost nonexistent in
some places. So, I guess the *old* FG needs a new light seal. From what I
was told in several messages, I'm probably looking at a cost in the
neighborhood of around $50. Not too bad for a second camera.

So there you have it. Again, I'd like to thank all of you for all of your
input (there was a lot of it and I think that's cool), I really appreciate it.

Back to lurk mode...
