If my N90s w/o MF-26 is only half a camera, what are my Nikkormat FTn, Mamiya 645,
Minolta XD-11, Pentax MX, Yashica FX-1, and Leica M2? None of these come close
to the N90s in "features" but I have, IMO, taken excellent photos with all of
them. Flash compensation might be useful, auto bracketing convenient but I have
been functioning for 20 years w/o it. Multiple exposure usefulness depends on
your style. Whether the MF-26 is useful depends on one's needs. I personally
think saving the money toward another lens would be a better use of resources,
at least it would for me.

Since I have a budget and a wife, before I make a major equipment purchase, I
ask myself, "Will my photo possibilities/quality or convenience significantly improve
by this purchase?" If the answer is no, I don't buy it.

Personally, I would get all the lenses I need before I bought the vertical grip
or MF-26.
