I'm amused by the on-going discussion of the "lack of differences" between
the N90s and the F100, and the fear that the N90s will be dropped.
One pretty good difference is price. The N90s body is significantly under
$1000, the F100 significantly over--there's a minimum of a $500 spread, as
far as I can tell. For that extra $500+, you get bracketing, professional
build quality, more flexible and faster autofocus, and a few other minor
things (96% viewfinder versus 92%, for example). I really doubt that the
N90s will go away soon, unless demand drops significantly. But given the
extra cost of the F100, I suspect demand will hold as photographers decide
that they don't need those extra cost extras. Nikon actually has a small
lineup compared to, say, Canon. The new models Nikon has introduced recently
make them more competitive at more levels.
