This is true if you use AF and flash very often, but the same happens with
almost any other modern camera.

I'm among those that say it's great - although I only use it when shooting
actors in a theater. I never had to use it outdoors. At night it's not much
of a help, since it starts metering at EV 4, which means that you can
forget it and must switch to center-weighted.

If you can get a N6006 without spending too much, get it. It's much better
than a F50 and as I see it, much easier to use too. The AF speed might be
slower, but I don't really know, check it first if it's important to you.
