Hello- I just purchased the 28-105 and early results are very impressive. Lens feels solid, uses the same 62mm filters as my other two AF lenses, and is extremely sharp (even compares to my 20/2.8 and 85/1.8) At 105mm, macro focuses to about 3 or 4 inches. I plan to shoot a wedding with it on 4/25. I'll post results. The deciding factors over the 24-120: 1. Speed 2. Filter size compatibility 3. Price 4. Rumors about greater sharpess 5. Usable macro range I would love to get a hood for it (Nikon HB-18) but can't find a single store that even has this part listed. Does anyone know where I might find this hood?
