Good day to all you Nikoneers.

12YR OLD 80-200 DESIGN

The 12 year old optical design doesn't mean that it's
tired and worthless. What I really wanted to say was
that the 12 year old design could probably be topped
by the new AF-S optical design. From the results I've
seen, I think the newer lens performs better.

------------------------
SB-26 slave

Robert pointed out that the SB-26 had a slave sensor.

Well, besides the slave sensor, my SB-26 also came
with a slave. It does remote voice controlled
adjustments, with full mobile control. Doesn't come
for free though. ...just kidding.

Seriously now, I think the SB-26 outperforms the SB-28
with its ability to be triggered remotely without any
add-ons. If TTL is required, use the SU-4. Or did I
read some post that says the SU-4 is only for the
SB-28. With the SB-26 it's easier to make sure if you
have the flash mode set correctly by feeling the
position of the mode switch. The SB-28's soft buttons
require you to look at it for confirmation. WARNING!
Never forget to check your flash mode with the SB-28.
Also, the SB-26 automatically zooms to a widest of
24mm and the flip down wide flash adapter allows it to
be manually zoomed between 20mm and 18mm. Just like
the SB-28.

AF-S ZOOMS

I heard someone complain about some gritty zoom ring
action. 28-70 or 80-200, I think both have this
feeling because of the weather seals. Or maybe the
paint used. After some use the feeling disappears or
at least lessened. My 80-200 even had a very stiff,
gritty tripod collar whe I got it new. It has now
definitely smoothened out.

Happy shooting.
