I use GP 1300's in my F5 and I'm not having any problems. I think Nikon
just wants to sell their own products and will actively disuade people
from using regular NimH batteries just to increase their bottom line. This
is typical Nikon behaviour. The only advantage to Lithiums (Energizers) 
is that they are quite light and low the weight of the body.
