Hi all,

Now that Guillaume mentions this topic I remenber having read some bad
news in a Swiss travel magazine (Globetrotter, which has a very good
reputation). It said that last year 16 US airports - nobody knows which of
them - had been equipped with state-of-the-art explosive detection devices
(those that find Semtex and other nasty stuff). The article said that
these devices definitely _do_ fog film. Well, I'm aware that not all
types of film react in the same way, but for me it's one more reason to
insist on hand-inspection of my films.

Does anybody know what legal basis allows photographers to have their
films hand-inspected? Do we depend on goodwill, or should we insist on
speaking to some real cop in case the x-ray-gunman refuses to cooperate?

Cheers
Boris
