>Does anyone have any experience with the Nikon 20-35 F2.8 AF lens?

The Nikon 20-35 is large, heavy and generally bulky for use on anything but
an F4s or F5. Its short focus distance is limited. It is difficult to use
with polarizers and split density filters. While not quite as sharp in the
corners as fixed f/l lenses (especially at 20mm) it is adequate for anything
but the most demanding 35mm format usages, eg, very large prints.
Unless you absolutely require the vari-focal (zoom) function, you're
probably better off with a pair of fixed focal length wide angle lenses. A
20mm and either 24mm or 28mm work well. This assumes you have the 35mm f/l
covered, either with a 28-70 or 35-70 or other.
In my experience "good" condition implies heavy professional use. In other
words, 'look bad, works great'. I don't know what the US/AU$ coversion is
these days, so you'll have to rely on someone else for pricing. But if the
glass is good and it's anything close to $700 USD, it sounds like a good
deal to me.
