My guess is you didn't get any comments because this is an almost universally heralded wonder lens that everyone wants but many find too expensive. It sells new for $1569.00 USD at B&H for the Nikon USA model and $1389.95 for the grey market model. It is rarely available used. I do not know what the US dollar to Australian currency exchange rate is, but you might be on to a good deal. The only debate on this lens is between it and the Nikkor prime lenses at 20, 24, 28, and 35 mm focal lengths which also include a couple of classic Nikkor primes. If you only want one or two lenses in the wide angle range, you can come out cheaper. The primes might have a bit less distortion and might be just a bit less prome to flare. Most people who have a 20-35 mm f 2.8 don't care. Best, John -- John N.
