Chinese Style Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients 

½ cup of sherry 
2/3 cup of soy sauce 
2/3 cup of hoisin sauce 
½ cup of brown sugar 
4 cloves of crushed garlic 
2 tsp of black bean paste 
1½ tsp of Chinese 5-spice powder 
1 tsp of salt 
Method 

Place all of the ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. 
Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens 
and reaches the desired consistency. 
Add to the meat at the end of cooking time or use as a dip.
