But it is simply because humans do not know how to take advantage of the good conditions peace offers them. It requires a great science to find the best ways for humans to occupy themselves during peacetime. But the truth is, humans are continually at war even during peacetime: they do nothing but confront each other in all realms of life. Politics, business, finance, religion and also family life are all areas of conflict, real battlefields. It's hardly surprising then if armed conflict is breaking out just about everywhere, bringing so much suffering in its wake! And then everyone begs the Lord to stop these wars and restore peace. But tell me, what has all this got to do with the Lord? It's human beings who should be asked to find the means within themselves to establish peace."
