Funny you should mention this.  Something that I wanted to do a long time
ago but was stymied by the mess that was m_scan if I remember correctly
was to change the code so that when you did a scan it would show

 1   some message
 1.1 first attachment
 ...

and also have the ability to do things like show 1.1.

Damn you for making me thing that I should still do this.
