The Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the Indiana
University School of Medicine has an immediate opening for quantitative
pharmacology or pharmacometrics faculty to join our Disease and Therapeutics
Response Modeling Program.

This position will support translational drug development and precision
medicine efforts, including in vitro in vivo extrapolation, preclinical, and
clinical studies, using multi-scale, quantitative pharmacology approaches.
Projects will involve the use of nonlinear mixed effects and/or
physiologically-based modeling techniques, and other biostatistical
applications in preclinical and clinical drug development and precision dosing,
to identify optimal dosing and PK/PD trial design. Experience with
biotherapeutics is beneficial.

Fueled by foundational teaching and innovative research, the Disease and
Therapeutic Response Modeling Program equips young scientists with diverse
experiences in the design, application, and interpretation of quantitative
approaches that drive the evolution of medical therapies. The DTRMP provides
pharmacometrics education to graduate students and fellows, including the
NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral training program in Clinical Pharmacology. It is
expected that the successful candidate will embrace student mentoring and
education.

This faculty member will be expected to participate in applying for and
maintaining external funding, and eventually, under the mentorship of key
senior investigators, be expected to acquire and sustain independent funding.

The successful candidate must demonstrate expertise in modeling, simulation,
and statistical methods through evidence of scientific meeting presentations,
publications, regulatory report submissions, or other equivalent activities.
Extensive software (e.g., NONMEM, Simcyp, Gastroplus, Phoenix, R) and
programming proficiency are preferred. Excellent communication skills and the
ability to work independently as well as a member of an interdisciplinary team
are essential.
