Oh sorry, I should have made that initial example a little less MySQL 
specific. The {engine:"innodb"}, is optional and currently the mysql 
adapter implementation pulls the the engine option out and appends it to 
the create table statement. The default implementation does not read the 
engine option from that parameter.

So I could change it to 

db.createTable("airport", function(){....});
