Certainly thinking about it; although related to neither the Pi nor
Node.js, I've been spending a bunch of time with a team at Texas
Instruments doing similar. My particular focus on this project is
building HTML5 front-ends for microcontroller projects where UI
widgets are bound to variables in programs running on the target
device. <http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:GUI_Composer>

With that in mind, I'm also working on the Pine project
<https://github.com/psema4/pine> where we're looking to create a
student/hobbyist-friendly HTML5 gaming console built on the Pi,
Node.js and Chromium. When we get to a stable release and ecosystem
I'm planning to investigate custom hardware add-ons.

I'd be most interested in hearing more on (and eventually contributing
to) this topic.
