Hello Non community ;-)

I'm new to the Non collection of applications, but not to Linux audio. I'm
the author of Swami and have been a major contributor to FluidSynth, etc.

Its been my long time dream of mine to have a pattern sequencer on Linux
such as what non-sequencer appears to aspire to. I recently was
entertaining the idea of writing one (yes i know, another project) and then
I came across non-sequencer and the rest of the applications. I'm really
quite impressed so far (I've been using primarily non-mixer with Swami and
Zynaddsubfx).

Just now I gave non-sequencer a try and I'm having quite a lot of issues
with it. The biggest one is very poor performance with changing notes.
Clicking and dragging on them seems to take several seconds (especially
when selecting a group of notes).

There are also several other issues I'm having, some of which I have seen
in the bug tracker (problem adding a note just prior to another one). I'm
also unable to change the velocity except in the event editor (no mouse
wheel velocity changing and the velocity setting at the bottom of the
screen seems to be ignored). It looks like the first note in my pattern is
also missing a note on event in the event editor, so I'm unable to change
its velocity (although it sounds like it is being played).

Is non-sequencer production ready or am I experiencing some isolated
issues? Did I build the right non-sequencer? I built everything from the
latest git source a few days ago.

I'm quite willing to put in some programming effort to improve
non-sequencer, just want to make sure I have the right orientation to begin
with. I'm really liking the design of the Non applications and see the
possibility of me fixing bugs as much more productive than trying to write
new applications from scratch. The author's philosophy of "lean and mean"
is exactly what I've been wanting.

Best regards,

Element Green
