You've got it about right. The git version of non-sequencer is still in a
transitional phase. You might have better luck with version 1.9.4--it'll be
missing a few features, but that was the last official release version. The
current dangling work on non-sequencer involves improving the input method,
and generally making the application usable entirely via touch-screen. The
copy/paste/move feature is new and indeed unfinished. You'll also find
that, due to the underlying pattern data format being MIDI, moving a
selection of notes 'through' existing notes produces a less than desirable
effect. Some of these issues can be classified as bugs--easily fixable--,
while others are more just a symptom of the incomplete changes . To be
perfectly honest, I haven't fully settled on the particulars of the
redesign, but I pushed the changes anyway because it was preferable to
leaving 1.9.4 as the only operable version.
