Hi,
Carla and the NON tools are a very powerful combination. One thing that
bothers me at the moment are the JACK connections. This is a big
disadvantage of the modular approach at the moment. It's takes a lot of
time and especially energy to make all the JACK connections from a
plugin in Carla to the inputs of the strips in Non-Mixer.
Isn't it possible to make a function with makes this automatic? Speaking
freely: adding a plugin in Carla adds a strip in Non-Mixer and connects
it (it should be possible to turn that function on and off, and
manual/custom connections should still be possible too). Maybe something
via OSC or JACK metadata?
A better integration of Carla into the Non Tools would be very cool
(automation is another thing).
Patchbay/Patchage are too complex for a general human brain at the
moment. Templates are possible, but way to rigid and not flexible at all.
