You could also try using Plugins/Textviz/Hide Line With Clipboard Text to
display
only the matching lines, then just delete them.

That could be handy, but have you tried displaying line numbers so you can just
subtract the first from the last? Settings/Preferences/Edit Components/Display
Line Number Margin.

Notepad++ 4.0 relese suffers 2 weeks of delay because of the its incompatibility
(bugs) under w2k/w98. It is finally available here :
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95717
This version comes with docking capacity for the plugin dialogs (if the plugin
supports this feature) on the 4 sides (left, right, top and bottom) of
Notepad++.
Furthermore, all the shortcuts of plugin commands can be modified now via
shortcut
mapper.
As well, two more languages are supported by v4.0 : Haskell and InnoSetup.
Lastly, Scintilla is upgraded to version 1.71 in Notepad++ v4.0.
I make a point of thanking Jens, Vitaliy and Chris for their help to finalize
the 4.0 release.
v4.0 new features and fixed bugs (from v3.9) :
1. Fix the crash issue.
2. Add Docking feature for plugin dialogs.
3. Fix the bug that current "open" and "save as" directory are unchanged with
the shortcut Ctrl+Tab.
4. Fix the bug that the new added languages in v3.9 can not be hidden from
the language menu.
5. Fix the volatile search direction bug.
6. Fix the Tab display problem.
7. Add Haskell, InnoSetup languages support.
8. Add the option to open/save files in the last operation directory.
9. Enhance Document switcher (MRU and switch crossing view abilities).
10. Fix "Find Next" unicode bug for Find Replace Dialog.
11. Support Unicode in displayed result of Find in files & Find in all opened
files.
12. Add Reload from disk feature.
13. Fix bug : quite (close or restart Windows) without prompt to save.
14. All the shortcuts of plugins commands are customizable via the shortcut
mapper.

First off, thanks a bunch for getting the Explorer plugin docked. I've wanted
that for a long time and it's great to see it there. Nice improvements on it
too. There are just a few things that could be improved:
- Enable cleartype on the text (it looks strange when that text is the only
non-cleartype text on the screen)
- Remove the square brackets from directory names. The icons should be enough
of an indicator. Brackets makes it difficult to read
- Show the extension with the file name so it's the real name of the file
instead
of in a separate column. The separate column is handy for sorting and keeping
it would be fine but please show the extension as part of the file name. If,
for example I have multiple files with the same name but different extensions,
it's very difficult to tell which is which without the extension part of the
file name. Maybe the "Ext" column could be changed to "Type" like in Windows
Explorer and say the full type of file, such as "File folder" and "PHP File"
instead of "<DIR>" and "php." This would be easier to read and a little
friendlier.
- Show file structure like Windows Explorer does, with My Documents as a root
folder. Drilling down to it from the C drive takes a long time and setting a
favorite location is nice, but not the best solution
- (Minor) Use folder icons as assigned by users. For example, I changed my
folder
icons to something other than the yellow folders but Notepad++ still shows the
yellow folders. It would be nice to see the ones I assigned.
Ultimately, I love that the feature has been added and is dockable now. That's
wonderful. However, I'd love it even more if it could mimic the native Windows
Explorer behavior as much as possible since that's what is most familiar when
using Windows.
It's getting there! Keep up the great work.

In my laptop I have 1 digital memory card reader slot integrated into the laptop
and attached to a USB port I have digital memory card reader with 2 slots.
All three show up as a drive letter in windows explorer and currently there
are no cards in those slots.
If I have the Notepad++ Explorer Plugin on by default (Plugins...Explorer...View
Explorer), everytime I start Notepad++ I get this popup several times:
"Windows - No Disk" "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into
drive." Then there are buttons - Cancel, Try Again, Continue.
This also happens if you have Notepad++ already open and enable the Explorer
plugin.
