I guess thread is as good as any...
Just upgraded to 4.02, with function list and explorer plugin - absolutely
beautiful.
Superb work everyone, this just gets better and better and better.

Hi,

Notepad++ is excellent.

I noted a missing font that appears in other editors and apps but is missing in
notepad++.

Bitstream Vera San Mono is missing. To be more exact in the font drop-down
selection I have: Bitstream Vera San Mono Bold.

I observe the _only_ font of this type I can get is _BOLD_. I assume if it said
in the drop-down menu: Bitstream Vera San Mono, then I'd have the expected
choices for this font.

Could anyone please tell me what to do to fix?

Thanks,

Lee G.

hi.... just found ++ ..... up until now I had been using another text editor.

VERY impressed with ++ however I am missing a HTML library that im used to in
the other editor.

Either I cant find the function in ++ or maybe its part of a plugin?

thanks.

In Matlab, when you use the conjugate tranpose symbol ' notepad++ usually
colours
it right. But if you use it like this

h{i,j}'

it doesn't work, because notepad++ thinks that the next characters are part
of a string.

In Matlab, the braces {} are used for cells, and the parenthesis () are used
for matrices and vectors.

Is there any workaround?

Thanks.

Why hasn't this made it into the code base?
Selected text color should resemble the rest of the windows applications as
much as possible.

I've tried many and have found notepad plus to be by far the best editor in
terms of features and (especially) speed. However, I'm big on aesthetics, and
was wondering if you would consider eliminating the window borders around the
editing "canvas". Check out evolvEd to see what I mean. True, windowless
fullscreen
mode is a great environment for coding!

The text is pretty much the standard default exception text when an integer
exception is thrown. The source for it is found in
...\Notepad++\Dev\PowerEditor\src\winmain.cpp at about line 283 in version 4.02.

The throw(666) function call is
in ...\Notepad++\Dev\PowerEditor\src\WinControls\StaticDialog\StaticDialog.cpp
and indicates a failure to create a static dialog. There are other throw(nnn)
exceptions, not just this one.

I used Notepad++ in hex editor mode to edit itself and change the wording to
say "Very bad exception" by clicking in the right-hand text section and typing
the text, after finding it as an ANSI string data type. I saved the file to
a separate executable, then renamed the old executable to a backup name and
the newly-saved one to "Notepad++.exe". (This is one powerful editor!)

I had not encountered this message, but it appears to be the default integer
exception handler indicating that it can't handle the exception. --Joel

It is working for me in version 4.0.2. I only used the case-sensitive menu
item under TextFX > TextFX Tools, with the "+Sort ascending" option checked.

I select a section to sort, either by line or by column. For column select
I used ctrl-alt-click-drag. I then used the TextFX Tools menuitem mentioned
above. --Joel

I guess nobody else is experiencing this behavior?

I've tried right clicking a ton of other file types (.txt, .vbs, .bat, .cmd,
etc etc) and they all show "Edit with Notepad++" when I right click, however,
files ending with .url still don't have the option.
