I have added the middle click pasting into my MultiClipboard plugin
http://peepor.net/loonchew/index.php?p=multiclipboard
direct link: http://peepor.net/loonchew/programming/NppMultiClipboardPlugin_1.1.
zip

As for the auto copy feature, I've to think carefully about the implementation
approach first. I suspect that if I implement it trivially, my multiple buffers
will be filled with all the intermediate selection text.
Eg, to copy the text "copy me", drag select over this text, and the buffer
entries
will contain:
"c", "co", "cop", "copy", "copy ", "copy m", "copy me"
This is clearly something undesirable!

If someone has an idea, kindly please let me know :-)

I agree... Notepad++ is a great program but the icon needs some long overdue
attention.
The 48x48 icon is pixely and generaly not very nice.. XP users will long for
64x64, 72x72, 96x96, and 128x128 icons. ..And now with Vista's 256x256 size,
a new icon set is a must!

I think Notepad++ should have an option to disable logging of recently opened
documents. I hate my screen to be cluttered, as I never use it.

I don't see any session related commands in my File.. menu. I don't see any
"About.." menu where I could check the version of the Notepad++ I installed
(I took the latest version whatever it was).

Has it not installed properly??

Yeah, that would be great. For my DockBar I also need a big icon!

Just set the "Max number history file" to zero. It's in the History File
Setting
section of the MISC tab on the Preferences dialog. Click on the number, change
it in the mini-dialog's field to 0, and press Enter. --Joel

The commands to load and save sessions are on the "File" menu. The "About..."
menuitem is under the "?" menu. This is for Notepad++ 4.0.2. You might try
re-installing it.

Version 4.0.2 remembers the last session and reloads it for you. --Joel

V4.0.2 on Windows 2000 SP4.

Find dialog has 3 options for Display Position. Bottom is selected as default.

As I understand it, this function displays the found text either at the top,
middle or bottom of the window. However, on large files, 107000 lines for
instance,
only the Bottom selection works here. If I select Top or Middle the correct
line is not displayed and the selected text is actually several screens further
down.

This only happens when Word Wrap is selected (PSPad has similar problems with
Word Wrap mode so I'm guessing this is initially a Scintilla problem). It would
appear that a miscalculation is made as to the correct line to display making
allowances for the fact that some lines are wrapped and so the number of lines
shown in the window isn't the number of lines of text.

You can see this effect in a short file and select Middle display position.
Make sure Word Wrap is on and that some lines do in fact wrap. Search for a
common word and depending on the number of wrapped lines you can see the
selected
line progressively move down the screen with each successive Find.

Quite how Bottom always works when Word Wrap is on or off I haven't figured
out yet.

Thanks
Mark

Hi,
I use N++ v4.0.2. I face a strange thing during searching text which was not
there in 3.x? versions AFAICR.

- I press Ctrl-F to search + Find Next button
- N++ finds the pattern so I'm happy: I exit the search dialog
- I try to move the cursor up/down/left/right but no response. I have to click
somewhere in the editing area to exit this "mode".

In earlier versions (3.x? AFACR) after finishing the search the text found was
highlighted and as well selected - so I was able to cut or copy. This was a
very confortable feature.
Is there a setting to avoid this problem and make N++ work like earlier?

Many thanks.

-- Csabi

I believe this focus problem was fixed in the Explorer 1.2 plugin for 4.0.2.

There may still be a problem with network connections that will be addressed
in later versions. Other than that, I don't know. --Joel
