Working with newlines in Notepad++ is tricky because of deficiencies in
Scintilla,
which it's based on.  See
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/newlineFindReplace-HOWTO.php for all
the ways of doing it that I could discover.

Also note that control+T will match a tab character in advanced search/replace
(control+r). Maybe only in non-regexp mode.

It can be done in a very limited way in the simple search (control+f). See
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm for details, but I'd expect
to find it not good enough.

The main problem I've had with the advanced search (control+r) is that if I
have anything selected when I invoke it, the Selection option is automatically
ticked. Then everything I do only operates on the selection. If that's not
what one wants or expects then it would appear not to work at all. Could that
be your problem?

It's really worth finding out how control+r works if you want to work with
newlines.
I've found that it's nearly pointless trying to work with newlines and regexp
though.

Thanks.

I would like to add another keywords style (INSTRUCTION WORDS2) in a different
color to the existing INSTRUCTION WORDS1 for Pascal. Is this possible?

There is no "Asp Syntax highlighting and folding" when <%@ LANGUAGE = JScript
%>.
Is it possible to make this feature ?

I'll remove this limit in the next release.

Hi,

It would be really great if all the backup files could be created in one
user-specified directory, e.g. C:\My directory\nppBackups, instead of a
subdirectory
"nppBackup" in the directory where the file is located. I think this
functionality
should not be too difficult to add. Can you put it on the to-do list? Thanks
a lot!

Regards,
Jeroen

If other users also think this would be a great feature, please reply.

Hi all.

I need help with define my syntax highliting for SQL.

My problem is:
1.) I dont know, how tu setup keywords for start and end folding. I define
keywords
"BEGIN IF" in tab "Folder & Default" in start od folding section. And I define
keywords "end; end if;" in end of folding section. But, it does not work
corectly.
OR
If it is possible, setup folding parameters for existing SQL style (menu:
settings
-> change style (I dont know how it is exactly in english version, I useing
another language))

2.) I want keywords as uppercase. For example:
DECLARE
  dStartDate    DATE := TO_DATE('01.01.0001','DD.MM.YYYY');
  nCountOfRows  NUMBER := 0;
  CURSOR cGoodUsers IS
    SELECT *
      FROM t_something
     WHERE blabla = 'BLA BLA'
       AND status = 1;
BEGIN

  FOR rec IN cGoodUsers LOOP
    IF rec.column = 1 THEN
      nCountOfRows := nCountOfRows + 1;
    END IF;
  END LOOP;
END;

So, I want setup folding parameters fo:
    START       END
-------------------------------
1.) IF          IF;
2.) LOOP        LOOP;
3.) BEGIN       END;
& oth...

Is it posiible, setting up language SQL for for this folding conditions? How?

Have somebody some experience with using SQL in notepad++? With executions SQL
scripts (SQL, anonymous blocks, procedures etc...) ???

Thanks.

Peter Roznay

This enhancement will be in the next release.

For the others I'll think about them.
