Is there a way to copy lines that match search criteria? I see you can mark
lines that match, but I have not found a way to copy these lines.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Nathan

PortableApps.com has released Notepad++ Portable, a package of Notepad++ that's
optimized for use from portable devices. It's in PortableApps.com Format so
it automatically integrates with the PortableApps.com Suite. Although there
are instructions for using Notepad++ from a portable device, use in this way
still results in a registry key being written to the local PC. Notepad++
Portable
includes code that fixes this issue and also automatically updates your MRU
file list and explorer plugin last used directory settings so that everything
stays relative to your device even as you move from PC to PC, which makes it
even easier to work on all your files.

good point, that does simulate the multiple windows reasonably. the behavior
of two separate windows in sync would be nicer, giving me the ability to resize,
focus on, and even minimize each window independently. also, the taskbar can
get in the way when stretching across monitors.
it's a thought, and if it's possible I'd like to see it in a future version.
it's not a make-or-break feature, but I think it'd be useful. please keep it
in mind.

After I installed the latest version, every time I restarted my computer,
notepad++.exe has been "eaten away" by some trojan virus. I hadn't had any
computer
viruses for ages when I installed the latest version my anti-virus program
caught
several of these malicious trojans/viruses.

A company. It feels a bit better. We still need a solution though ;/

I write a keystroke macro for this purpose. With earlier versions, I could
use a clean, temporary editor tab as a staging ground:
<End>
<Shift-Home>
<Ctrl-C>
<Ctrl-Tab>
<Ctrl-V>
<Enter>
<Ctrl-Shift-Tab>
<F3>
Then I prepopulate the Find dialog with the search string, close the dialog,
and repeatedly play back the macro. When it's finished, the other editor tab
contains the matching lines.
This no longer works as is, as the macro recorder seems to no longer handle
the <Ctrl-Tab> & <Ctrl-Shift-Tab> keystrokes predictably, due to some recent
improvements to NP++ in navigation between tabs. So now I use the end of the
file as the staging ground:
<End>
<Shift-Home>
<Ctrl-C>
<Ctrl-F2>
<Ctrl-V>
<Enter>
<F2>
<Ctrl-F2>
<F3>
When it's finished, I cut the copied lines from the end of the file to the
clipboard
with essentially the same result.
Regards.
Greg
