It may be a bug of plugin implementing CTR+R, you can try with ctrl+H it may
be working better...

I've added the notepad.exe into the 3 areas but the old notepad.exe just like
keeps respawning in 2 of them but in the 3rd it stays as the new =S why..? and
Not all programs that use notepad are opening they dont open at all unless i
rightclick and say open with notepad (old one)

I mentioned I was a Win2K user :-))
I've tried to repeat this today and it won't crash. Tried all sorts of things
- nothing.
It was entirely repeatable yesterday and today all is OK. So, unless it happens
again, and I'll report it if it does, then it must have been something else
on my system interfering in some way - who knows!

I was just watching a demo of E - TextEdit and saw some awesome features that
I wondered if they could be included in Notepad++.
One is particularly interesting is the ability to insert text at multiple points
in a document at the same time. Its probably best to go watch the demo
( http://www.e-texteditor.com/ ) but basically I think they hold down the CTRL
key, select the multiple points and then you can just start typing and this
also applies for multiple replaces as well. I.e. you can select multiple points
to overwrite.
There are some other quite nice features but this one would be awesome.

In this release, the serious dockable dialog drag n' drop problem under vista
is fixed. There're some problems of performance during dragging the dialog for
somes machines, at least the system's error doesn't appear anymore.
One of the most requested features is the column mode edition, now it's
available
in v4.2. You can insert texts or a number (decimal/hexadecimal/octal/binary)
with or without column selection.
Here're v4.2 fixed bugs and added features (from v4.1.2) :
1. Fix the dockable dialog drag and drop problem under vista.
2. Add Column mode edition feature (Menu "Edit->Column Editor...").
3. Fixed "To UPPER/lower case" bug in column mode.
4. Fix the display bug in User language define dialog.
5. Add new feature which backups files in a user specific directory.
6. Fix TeX syntax highlighting corruption problem while switching off then
switching back to current document.
7. Fix User Define Language extension recognition problem for sensitive case
(now it's insensitive).
8. Add a menu entry to access to notepad++ plugins project page.
9. Enhance file open dialog (add all supported extensions in the filters
list).
10. Fix bug of Run macro until EOF.

Thank you, Don. Good job.
After installing the new version with all plugins, I got an application error
upon startup -- it quit immediately with an offer to send an error report to
Bill Gates.
Isolating the problem to the Explorer plugin, I updated that plugin to 1.5,
and now everything works fine once again.
