I checked the "set NP++ to View Source from IE" option on installation of 4.2
(as with earlier versions). When I View Source from within IE NP++ will pop
up showing the current IE webpage in HTML highlighting, but the file itself
has no extension. This is a problem when I close NP++ and open it later. The
file _won't_ be highlighted in HTML mark-up then. But for me it works when
opening
(again) directly from IE.

I have problems to open *.nfo files. When i try to open it it instantly eats
all the system memory so the system is unusable. Complete slowdown. I must
terminate
the process in process manager, this also takes some time. Same problem occurs
when i try to save a document as an NFO file. With TXT files everything works
fine. Other files i didn't try. This error was already present in version 4.2.
I run it under XP PRO on Intel Celeron CPU with 512MB RAM.

Is there an easy way to change the syntax highlighting used by the languages
included with Notepad++ by default? I find a few of the colour combinations
a bit difficult to work with :(

Hey there, I read your email, and I think that it doesn't.

I'm working on 1.0 and I'm moving into GEdit's snippets - I'll make those
snippets
work on Notepad++. They're XML, so comments are allowed.

Hi,

I want to find all lines that does NOT contain a specific char (or string) and
replace
it with empty string

(in other words - I want to delete all lines that doesn't contain a specific
char or string)

How can I do that?

THX

I guess Notepad++ is keeping the default directory set to the one used when
you first start the program. You will need an explicit path to work around
this.  --Joel

Using CTRL-U or CTRL-shift-U on a columnar block is still, as of 4.2.1, not
working.
The behaviour changed from previous version: before, it was not doing what is
supposed to be, and was adding some newlines inside the block.
Now, it works sometimes, while other times it does absolutely nothing. I really
could not find a pattern, but it definitely needs an extra fix.
Thanks for a wonderful editor.

Kool!

Let me know if you need any help with the PHP conversion.

If you can give and example I can probably work off that. :)

I had the same error message ("FuncItems array is not set correctly"). I finally
found my error, I don't know if your problem is the same. Here is what I did :

I used the demo project "NPPDemoPlugin". At first it didn't work because that
project seems to be outdated :
 - first there is now 5 mandatory functions and not 4 as in that demo project.
So I added the "messageProc" function that was needed.

Then I had the error message about FuncItems. In my case, DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH
is correctly called. I noticed then that the structure "FuncItem" has changed
too : it now have a new field "ShortcutKey *_pShKey;". I fixed that and the
message didn't come again. I hope it will solve your problem too.

Here are the changes I maked in the file "PluginInterface.h" :

added :

struct ShortcutKey {
        bool _isCtrl;
        bool _isAlt;
        bool _isShift;
        unsigned char _key;
};

extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) void messageProc(UINT Message, WPARAM wParam,
LPARAM lParam);

changed :

typedef struct {
        char _itemName[itemNameMaxLen];
        PFUNCPLUGINCMD _pFunc;
        int _cmdID;
        bool _init2Check;
        ShortcutKey *_pShKey; //--> the new field
} FuncItem;

Why notepad don't use system color of windows? I need to change every background
manually. It's very annoying.

I've got the same problem, on VISTA, even though there is no file 'program'
in the root-folder...

Explorer context menu entry (right click) doesn't work on a WinXP 64-bit
version.
Component is registered properly, but rmb-list doesn't add the NotePad++
option.
Works fine on 32-bit XP
