Is it possible to have a shortcut for "Folder of Current File" ?
Also, if the file opened in notepad++ uses an 8.3 name, it won't be underlined
in "Folder of Current File"
Can be reproduced by creating a txt file with a long name, typing dir /x in
cmd window, and opening this file from command line using 8.3 name.

Some suggestions for later versions:
* "Dos Prompt here" when right click a file or a folder would be nice, if it
is a file just open a DOS prompt with the file name example:
c:\temp>test.bat
* When right click a folder, show in the menu:
- Full File path(s) to documnet
- File Name(s) to documnet

The installer is probably setting some registry values. You might find the
info on the web site.
Maybe someone who has installed the option can tell you. Otherwise, the only
suggestion I can make is to consider using the installer; I didn't enable this
option because I am not using IE. --Joel

Sure, that doesn't really answer my questions.
Can I develop for NP++ using MS VC++ Express Edition?
What additional files should I get and where?
Can I download MFC?
What command should I execute to build NP++ if I have to use MinGW?
If there would be a short, but complete description, I could get to work on
some things.

That sounds more like a bug than an item for open discussion. You might have
better results posting a bug report. --Joel

So, I was going to add this feature myself but I couldn't get it to build.
I downloaded the code from the svn.
Then I downloaded MinGW and MSYS.
Then I added those directories to my path and went into PowerEditor\gcc and
typed make.
I got a bunch of build errors. Perhaps the MinGW compiler is slightly different
than VC++ and it hasn't been kept up to date in both ?

It sounds like you opened the .jar file with an IDE or a zipfile program. It
may just be a temporary file. You might try extracting the .class file to a
specific location, and then try editing it.
This assumes that the contents of the .class file is actually text... --Joel

Start here: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/generalFAQ.php -- currently
there's info about this topic at the bottom of the page that is opened.
If you already have a userDefineLang.xml file, you might have to edit it and
paste in your custom language support. --Joel

I haven't yet tried this with the latest version, but you should be able to
click in the Find Results window and press ctrl-A to mark the entire block,
then ctrl-C to copy it to the clipboard. You can then paste it into an edit
window. --Joel

Hi all,
maybe I've missed it, but how can I let Notepad++ create a new blank file /
tab from a plugin?
I've seen the SCI_SETDOCPOINTER message, but that does not create a new tab.

For most languages, you should be able to do this with the Styler Configurator
launched from the Settings menu. If you click on Java, then on INSTRUCTION
WORD, you'll see where you can add keywords. --Joel
